Spork students are real achievers

Published 16 December 2008, Posted in Northland Spork students are real achievers

Students at ‘The Centre’, Tikipunga High School were recognised for their learning and life achievements at their recently held Praise Giving Ceremony.
Matthew Lewis and Gail Stacey, Empowerment Online Facilitators at Tiaho Trust were thrilled to be invited to attend this ceremony and were given the opportunity to present certificates to students who took part in the Empowerment Online Project.

Students at the Centre are currently taking part in this project by being members of ‘Spork’, an educational and fun social networking website.  Spork is a great environment to learn about the internet and meet and make new friends as it is a safe, moderated, invite only website.

Matthew and Gail would like to take this opportunity to thank all the students for their hard work and commitment to learning about the internet on Spork.

We are both very proud of all your achievements as you all should be.  We have really enjoyed our time at the Centre, the atmosphere and camaraderie between the students is awesome and a great learning environment.

Thanks also to Marie and the teacher aids for the passionate support you provide your students, we feel, this is what has enabled them to perform to the level they have.

Kimberley McLean recieves her Spork Certificate  Susie Clark with her Spork Certificate  Emma Newman recieves her Spork Certificate

If you or someone you know would like to join Spork, it is invitation only so please get in contact with Tiaho Trust to join.

Minnie’s presentation on Be Accessibe was truly inspiring. disappointing to see those most in need of ‘enlightenment’ were absent….a great build up for the RWC and way beyond so up to those who did attend to be vocal! and spread the Be word!
