Northland ‘SibsHop Day’

Cartoon of two happy peopleParent to Parent Northland are holding a ‘SibsHop Day’ on Sunday 14th June 2009 from 10am till 3pm (Venue to be advised)

This is a day for Siblings aged between 8 and 18 years who have, or have had, brothers or sisters with disabilities but who do not have special needs or health conditions themselves.

The aim of the day is to provide siblings with an experience that will assist them to cope with the challenges of living with a brother or sister who has a disability or special needs.

SibSupportN.Z. is offered at no charge to participants and is:

  • A day where siblings are the focus.
  • A time for fun and a break from home.
  • A chance to make friends with others who understand.

The day includes workshop sessions and other opportunities to share feelings and issues.  A wide range of fun activities are included.

Please download and complete the attached Expression of Interest form and send to the address below by 29/5/09 if you, or your daughter or son would like to attend :

Minnie’s presentation on Be Accessibe was truly inspiring. disappointing to see those most in need of ‘enlightenment’ were absent….a great build up for the RWC and way beyond so up to those who did attend to be vocal! and spread the Be word!
