Managing and Coordinating Volunteers Course

Published 25 August 2009, Posted in National

The Fundraising Institute of New Zealand (FINZ), in collaboration with Xperts, is pleased to present the Managing and Coordinating Volunteers course to be run in September 2009.

This course is vital for all fundraisers working with volunteers. And as a distance learning course, can be completed from the comfort and convenience of your own office or home.

If you are new to managing volunteers, or have some experience and wish to expand your knowledge and improve your practise, this is the course for you.

Providing adequate and appropriate training for volunteers is a key element of good practice for organisations. By the end of the course you will:

  • Have a clear understanding of your role related to volunteers.
  • Understand the principles related to the recruitment and training of volunteers.
  • Be able to undertake performance management for volunteers who have regular ongoing assignments.
  • Know how best to engage, manage and retain volunteers for fundraising events.
  • Be familiar with legislative requirements, rights and responsibilities related to volunteers.
  • Know where to find resources for further information on volunteer management.

Minnie’s presentation on Be Accessibe was truly inspiring. disappointing to see those most in need of ‘enlightenment’ were absent….a great build up for the RWC and way beyond so up to those who did attend to be vocal! and spread the Be word!
