Information Sharing Day

Published 10 August 2010, Posted in National Information Sharing Day

Riding on the success of our previous Information Day, we are show casing the event again.

We understand that a lot of you missed the opportunity to come and hear short presentations from local Community Disability Information and Support groups so don’t miss out again.

Come and hear presentations from the Northland Disability Information and Advisory Services (DIAS) Collective who will explain what their services are and how to make referrals to them.

These community organisations offer services that support improved health outcomes by linking people, families and carers living with a disability to information, advice and support in their community.

This is also a friendly and relaxed day and a great chance to meet the people who work in these organisations.

Topics covered will include:

  • How these organisations can support people with a specific impairment in their community
  • What services these organisations provide and how they are delivered.
  • The referral processes.
  • How these organisations can work with you.
  • Where you can find out about their services and contact details
  • Website Information
  • Network opportunity
  • Question & Answers

Come and join us for a fairly relaxed opportunity to ask questions and learn a bit more about these community groups in Northland and how they can provide further information and support to your clients.

Venue: Rata Room, Manaia PHO, Rust Avenue
Date: Tuesday 14th September 2010
Time: From 10.00 am onwards
Lunch: A light lunch will be provided at 12 noon with further presentations afterwards.

Minnie’s presentation on Be Accessibe was truly inspiring. disappointing to see those most in need of ‘enlightenment’ were absent….a great build up for the RWC and way beyond so up to those who did attend to be vocal! and spread the Be word!
