Hip and knee joint replacement seminar

Published 22 October 2008, Posted in Northland Hip and knee joint replacement seminar

Have you been told that you need a hip or knee joint replacement?

If you live in the Kerikeri area, Arthritis NZ is offering a great opportunity for people to attend a seminar to learn more about hip and joint replacements and how to manage your mobility before and after surgery.

Join us at 1pm on Thursday 6th November at Kingston House, 123 Hone Heke Road Kerikeri to hear Orthopaedic Surgeon Mr Andrew Herbert speak about hip and knee joint replacement surgery.

He will be bringing along some x-rays of hip and knee joints to show why a replacement may be necessary and to explain the procedures.  He will also discuss post-op treatment and there will be an opportunity to ask questions so come along well prepared.

Physiotherapist Alison Shipton will also be speaking at the seminar. People often have to wait for long periods before they receive their surgery and can encounter back and joint pain as they try to alleviate the pain in their effected joint. Alison will be talking about ways in which you can manage your mobility prior to and after your surgery.

Please contact Gladys or Carol on 09 408 2451 0r 0800 663 463 to register.

This seminar is free to Arthritis NZ members or $5 for non-members.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Minnie’s presentation on Be Accessibe was truly inspiring. disappointing to see those most in need of ‘enlightenment’ were absent….a great build up for the RWC and way beyond so up to those who did attend to be vocal! and spread the Be word!
