Kimberley McLean and West End Medical Centre Receptionist NoeleneHow health professionals, including your GP think about and talk to disabled people matters.

Tiaho Trust is working alongside Manaia Health PHO general practices to increase their knowledge and responsiveness to people with impairment and includes assessing whether any physical or attitudinal barriers exist at the medical centres.

The collaborative approach Tiaho Trust adopts in all its Project undertakings ensures that disabled people are leaders and participants in work that is about them.  The international disabled community phrase of “Nothing about us without us’ is respected and encouraged.

If you or a member or your family/whanau has a disability and would like to be part of this project we would really like to hear from you.

We value your knowledge and expertise and are offering a $25 gift/koha if you agree to take part in a short survey where your feedback will help ensure that the experience of disabled people accessing services at your medical centre is a positive one.

Please contact Gail Stacey at Tiaho Trust on 0800 430 3406 if you are interested in participating in this project.

Please note that your participation will be kept confidential and you will not be identified by name in any reports.
