Getting older with cerebral palsy: strategies for positive ageing.

Our study aims to find out more about how getting older affects people with cerebral palsy.

We would like to talk with people with cerebral palsy aged over 35 years living in the upper North Island about strategies they use to age positively and stay well.

We are also interested in finding out how health and rehabilitation services meet their needs as they get older, and to explore their own views about how these services might better meet those needs over both short and longer term.

We are concerned with what things make it easier or harder for adults with cerebral palsy to access health information or services that they believe would be helpful, and how things such as health care access or changes in ability are linked to personal health and wellness.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people with cerebral palsy who live in Northland or in rural areas of the upper North Island.

If you are interested in taking part in this study, or would like more information we would like to hear from you by Friday 18th June. Please contact Juliet Rosie, ph. (09) 921 9999 ext. 7177 (AUT University, Auckland) or email: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Minnie’s presentation on Be Accessibe was truly inspiring. disappointing to see those most in need of ‘enlightenment’ were absent….a great build up for the RWC and way beyond so up to those who did attend to be vocal! and spread the Be word!
