The Stroke Foundation Northland and Age Concern Whangarei are pleased to present two free seminars designed to educate the general public about healthy eating, the signs and effects of stroke and how early intervention and help and support from the Stroke Foundation can support survivors.

Tuesday 9 September

Northland Hockey Association, Park Ave, Whangarei

Day Seminar

9:30 am to 2 pm

Programme & Speakers

  • Healthy Eating, review your eating plan (Dietician—Manaia Health PHO)
  • Early intervention, facts, services & support (Charm Kernot, Stroke Foundation)
  • Signs, Medical Management, Effects (Dr Tus Fernando, Geriatrician, Northland Health)

12 noon lunch provided - courtesy of Guardian Health Care

  • Rehabilitation exercises and services (Isobel Finlayson, Physiotherapist)
  • Relaxation & stress management (Sylvia Page)

Evening Seminar

5:30 pm to 7:30pm

Minnie’s presentation on Be Accessibe was truly inspiring. disappointing to see those most in need of ‘enlightenment’ were absent….a great build up for the RWC and way beyond so up to those who did attend to be vocal! and spread the Be word!
