Epilepsy Northland is holding a number of free seminars in Northland for people interested in learning more about Epilepsy.

These courses are suitable for all those who have contact with anyone with epilepsy, whether as a person with epilepsy, a whanau member, a carer, teacher, youth or church worker.

Come and empower yourself to be proactive in supporting those you know with epilepsy

Each FREE Seminar will cover: What is epilepsy? What causes it? Who gets it? Types of epilepsy, First Aid for seizures, Seizure Management, Recognition of epilepsy, Social and educational implications of epilepsy, Anti-epileptic Drugs, their use and management.

Where: Maunu Health Camp, Whangarei
When: January 28th 2009, 10 am - 12 noon  

Where: Ministry of Education office, 113 Broadway, Kaikohe
When:  January 29th 2009, 10 am - 12 noon

Where:  Ambulance Hall, Kerikeri Rd, Kerikeri
When:  January 29th 2009, 2 pm - 4 pm

Where: Ministry of Education office, 1st Floor, 1 Melba St, Kaitaia
When:  January 30th 2009, 10 am - 12 noon

These will be awesome!!  I encourage you all to go along - you are sure to learn something.  Great for people with epilepsy, and all those caring, working or in contact in any way, with someone who has epilepsy.
It will not be ‘heavy’ it will be fun and interesting.  Bettcha’.

One down three to go. We had a great start with 7 people this morning from all walks of life with a common interest in epilepsy. Come to one of the others!

Minnie’s presentation on Be Accessibe was truly inspiring. disappointing to see those most in need of ‘enlightenment’ were absent….a great build up for the RWC and way beyond so up to those who did attend to be vocal! and spread the Be word!
