Free Epilepsy Seminar

Epilepsy Northland is holding a free Epilspsy Seminar at the Pukenui Ambulance Station on Wednesday 29th April from 7pm to 9pm.

This course empowers you with the skills and knowledge that you are doing the right thing if someone has a seizure in your care. It will also help you recognize and understand all types of seizures.

 

Did you know that the incidence of epilepsy increases dramatically over the age of 60?

Does your child have blank “eyes open, nobody in” moments?

Does Nana have short periods of being away with the fairies?

Each Seminar will cover; What is epilepsy? What causes it? Who gets it? Types of epilepsy, First Aid for different types of seizure, Seizure Management, Recognition of epilepsy, Social and educational implications of epilepsy, Anti-epileptic Drugs, their use and management.

Participants will recieve a Certificate of attendance.

Minnie’s presentation on Be Accessibe was truly inspiring. disappointing to see those most in need of ‘enlightenment’ were absent….a great build up for the RWC and way beyond so up to those who did attend to be vocal! and spread the Be word!
