A Former Whangarei Hearing Association boss hunted by liquidators since November over alleged mismanagement of funds has finally been tracked down in an Auckland cafe.

Mark Whitfield, a former president and manager of the now liquidated association, was served with court documents at a Gulf Harbour, Whangaparaoa cafe on Monday. Liquidator Stephen Bennett said if the pair failed to attend hearings into the association’s finances, they would be held in contempt of court and arrested.

Since the association was taken over by Mr Whitfield and his supporters at a general meeting on March 7th 2005, the Hearing Association has lost more than $107,000 in cash and a property worth $500,000.
