Published 28 July 2009, Posted in Northland
The Whangarei Art Museum are inviting students of all ages who currently study at schools and institutions in Northland to submit an exhibiton concept proposal to their board and director by the 25th September for their Disability@rtAccess exhibition being held from 2nd November to 6th December.
The exhibition is a collaboration between W.A.M, Tiaho Trust and the Whangarei District Council, coinciding with International Day of People with a Disability 2009.
The exhibition is about making art accessible to those people in our community who have a disability. The proposal can be for any public space or in any of the Whangarei Art Museum’s galleries’.
Stimulate your creative energies and lateral thinking to create fresh ways of experiencing and interpreting art.
The winner will receive a copy of ‘Len Castle - Making The Molecules Dance’ worth $135 and a $50 Prezzy Card.
We may use the winning proposal in the exhibition program if it is feasible, or look into having it realised in the future. Either way, the winning proposal will be posted on our website and the winner presented with a certificate and prizes at the official opening of the Disability@rtAccess show, Monday 2nd November, 5:30pm

Minnie’s presentation on Be Accessibe was truly inspiring. disappointing to see those most in need of ‘enlightenment’ were absent….a great build up for the RWC and way beyond so up to those who did attend to be vocal! and spread the Be word!
