Boccis Tournament

Northland Boccia held it’s second annual Northland Secondary School boccia (pairs) tournament at Kensington Stadium with teams from four schools participating.  Dargaville High School shone with Tikipunga High not far behind.

They also have a teams heading of to the Auckland Focus Cup on 30th June and Andrew Phillips and family fly to Melbourne to compete in the Australian Nationals on Sunday

Northland Secondary Schools – College Sports Day
Wednesday, 20th June

Hi Everyone – Our last day of boccia for Term 2 is Tuesday, 26th June. NO boccia training Thursday, 28th June – the Stadium is booked out.  We have a two week break and will resume on Tuesday, 17th July.  Note:  We will be hosting the North Island Regionals 3 weeks later.

An enjoyable day was held at the Genesis Energy Kensington Stadium recently for the second annual Northland Secondary School’s boccia (pairs) tournament.  The event was attended by;
Bay of Islands College, Blomfield Special School, Dargaville High School and Tkipunga High School.  Due to some late cancellations support staff stepped in to make up numbers and proved to be very eager competitors. Dargaville High School shone with Tikipunga High not too far behind!!

Well done everyone and many thanks to the awesome team of Northland Boccia personnel who turned out to assist on the day.

Auckland Focus Cup – 30 June & 1st July

North Island Regionals
Whangarei – 4 & 5 August

Registrations close on 21st July.  The registration form is attached for those of you eligible to enter this Boccia NZ sanctioned tournament.

New Zealand Nationals
Tauranga – 5th to 8th October

We are now seeking formal “Expressions of Interest” from those Northland players who qualify to enter this competition.  (Please find form and qualifying criteria attached.)

Hokianga Visit – 25 June

Northland Boccia representatives; Kathy Bingham, Chris Youens, Chris Keay, Andrew Phillips, Erica Phillips & Derek Miller enjoyed a visit to the newly formed Hokianga Club in Rawene.
