Home Carers Seminar

This free seminar will offer practical strategies for people at home coping with caring for someone with dementia.

Date change for Momentum 09
Published May 13th 2008, Posted in NationalMomentum 09 is being held at AUT University of Technology in Auckland. We are shifting the dates by a week to avoid clashes with the beginning of the academic year. This will allow us more freedom and access to the venue which is great. The new dates are 25th - 28th February 2009.

Parafed North Island Games

It has been a number of years since the last Parafed North Island Games were held, but Parafed Auckland is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the event this year in Auckland, on the 8th and 9th November.

Disability Convention becomes law

Register for Northland Boccia Champs
Published May 06th 2008, Posted in NorthlandThe 2008 Northland Boccia Championships are being held at the Genesis Energy Kensington Stadium on Saturday 14th June from 9am to 4.30pm. This is a one day, singles competition for pools BC1, 2, 3, and 4 combined, Kiwi and Open. The cost is $10 per person; closing date for registration is 30th May. Please bring a shared lunch, drinks will be provided.
Please note that this tournament is open to persons resident in Northland or members of the Northland Boccia Association Inc.

“Right to Sign”
Published May 05th 2008, Posted in National“The Freedom to Sign is Our Freedom of Expression” is the slogan for the second annual New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) week, which kicks off May 5 with events around the country.
National Coordinator of NZSL Week Angela Lindsay says, “This year, the purpose is to raise public awareness that NZSL also gives Deaf people a voice.”
