MS Awareness Week

Published August 26th 2010, Posted in Northland MS Awareness Week

MS Awareness Week runs from 29th August to 3rd September.  Members and volunteers of the Northland MS Society will be out and about on Friday 3rd September at two set venues kindly provided by New World and the Warehouse in Whangarei, and visible in the CBD with their lovely orange identity sashes with their collection boxes.

The funds raised from this week will assist the Field Worker to continue her valuable outreach services to people with Multiple Sclerosis in Northland.

Following this, on the 6th September, eight of our members with varying degrees of disabilities who have been regularly attending physiotherapy classes, will be attempting to climb the rock wall at the Kensington Stadium.

Watch this Space to see how they go!

The Poa Family and Brain Injury Northland

Published August 17th 2010, Posted in Northland

Information Sharing Day

Published August 10th 2010, Posted in National Information Sharing Day

Riding on the success of our previous Information Day, we are show casing the event again.

We understand that a lot of you missed the opportunity to come and hear short presentations from local Community Disability Information and Support groups so don’t miss out again.

Come and hear presentations from the Northland Disability Information and Advisory Services (DIAS) Collective who will explain what their services are and how to make referrals to them.

These community organisations offer services that support improved health outcomes by linking people, families and carers living with a disability to information, advice and support in their community.

This is also a friendly and relaxed day and a great chance to meet the people who work in these organisations.
