This is my last day working at the Tiaho Trust, as of today as I am embarking on a new phase in my life… a University Student!!

Yes, soon I am moving to the mighty Waikato to begin studying towards a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Political Science with a mixture of Philosophy and Screen and Media Studies thrown into the mix!

Advancewellness Centre logoChildren and their families suffer unnecessarily with bowel and bladder issues.

This parent education workshop is provided by a qualified, experienced Specialist Paediatric Continence Advisor Julie Jordan-Ely who is also the C.E.O. and Founder of the Advancewellness Centre - Melbourne.

The Advancewellness Centre ’ s philosophy is that it takes a village to raise a child and these parent education workshops are aimed at provide basic continence education and information.

Disability Outreach Coordinator wanted

Based in Whangarei the role will be working with the mid and far north communities.  To succeed in this role you will have the following attributes:

  • Strong organisational skills
  • Good community links/networks
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Reporting and referral experience

It is essential that you have an interest in the disabled community.

This position is for 15 hours/week and is for a fixed term of six months

Women’s Wellness Day

The Northland Branch of Epilepsy NZ is having a Women’s Wellness Day - for women living with epilepsy either personally or as a carer.

We aim to have a peaceful, relaxed and informative day where women can talk with others, learn about their epilepsy through short seminars, and be pampered.  There will be no cost involved.  If however you would like to make a donation on the day we would happily accept it.

Bright spaces for disabled

Bright blue accessible carparks are making waves in Whangarei, leaving drivers with no doubt the parking places are reserved for people with disabilities.

The swimming pool-blue non-skid paint has been applied at Bream Bay Medical Centre and Whangarei Pak’ n Save.

Disabled support organisation Tiaho Trust now hopes to paint the town blue to help stop abuse of the accessible carparks.
