Dove’s Tail is the commercial division of Tiaho Trust. We are involved in providing travellers with specific needs with information about operators, providers, facilities and events that understand what it means to be accessible.

Home sweet home at last for Willie

Having his own place to call home has meant a world of independence and confidence for Willie Pivac.
A wheelchair user since 23 due to a tumour in his spine, Willie has been so desperate to not be a burden on his family that he considered living in a rest home.

Behaviour Support Services Review
Published January 14th 2009, Posted in NationalThe Ministry of Health is seeking feedback from providers and interested parties on the Behaviour Support Services Review discussion paper. This paper makes recommendations for future purchasing options for Behaviour Support Service in New Zealand.
They plan to hold forums in the main centres so that they can recieve face to face feedback on this discussion paper or if you are unable to attend one of these forums you can email them.

“In My Shoes”
Published January 12th 2009, Posted in NationalIn My Shoes is a DVD containing information about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It gives the viewer a glimpse of what it’s like to live in the shoes of someone with ASD.
Mäori families of children with autism spectrum disorder have initiated the production of this video designed to raise awareness of the challenges the disorder presents and help other families to better cope.
